What is our mission?
Humble Beginnings
The George Noyes Foundation started as a small initiative with big aspirations. It all started with the George Noyes Memorial Golf Tournament, which was organized to honor the memory of George Noyes, a World War II and Korean War veteran who passed away from cancer in 1981. The original tournament was focused on raising money for the American Cancer Society, but after George's grandson Nicholas was diagnosed with Autism, the family decided to donate a portion of the funds raised to Autism Speaks and other charities that supported individuals with Autism.With the help of dedicated volunteers and donors, we were able to grow our efforts and make a greater impact.
In the early days, we relied on the generosity of local businesses and community members to support our cause. We organized fundraising events, like the George Noyes Memorial Golf Tournament, and were amazed at the outpouring of support from our community. As we continued to grow, we established partnerships with other organizations, like Horses for Autism, to further our impact.
We want to help and create a more inconclusive world
At the George Noyes Foundation, we believe in the power of giving and the importance of supporting organizations that make a positive impact in our communities. We started as a small, family-run organization, inspired by the memory of a beloved father and grandfather who was a veteran and passed away from cancer.
For over 20 years, we organized the George Noyes Memorial Golf Tournament to raise money for the American Cancer Society. When our family was touched by autism through the diagnosis of our beloved grandson, Nicholas, we knew we wanted to support charities dedicated to autism research and support as well.
We were fortunate enough to cross paths with Horses for Autism, a wonderful organization that uses the healing power of horses to help children and adults with autism spectrum disorders. Through our partnership with Horses for Autism, we have been able to accept donations and support their mission, as well as connect with other worthwhile charities that help families with special needs children and adults.
As we continue to grow, we want to expand our reach and help even more organizations that are dedicated to making the world a better, more inclusive place. We know that by coming together and supporting one another, we can create a brighter future for all.
